Why is there a character limit for objectives?

There is a 160 character limit on ObjectiveManager for objectives. This has been designed to help you be more specific (the 'S' in SMART Objective) when creating your objectives. An objective is WHAT you will achieve. When describing your objective, focus on what you will achieve - keep it concise. 

For example "Increase Employment Law related revenue from our existing FTSE100 clients by £100,000 to £500,000 this year". That's a smart objective - you don't need lots of information to describe a SMART objective.

To provide more details you can use the context field, which has a 3000 character limit. Tasks can also be added to your objective, to provide further layers of detail.
